2007 has been designated by the Scottish Executive as the Highland Year of culture. I’m not so sure about someone telling me to be cultured for 365 days, but the focus has to be a good thing.
The official jamboree kicks off on 12 January in Inverness, timed to coincide with the Auld Scots New Year, so I’ll try to update on what’s happening out there across the Highlands in the next 12 and a bit months.
I’ll also muse on my own cultural feelings, like will I wake up on 1 Jan 2007 a more cultured or culturally secure person? Watch this space!
